KMCEO Scholar - Syed Abid Abdullah

Many congratulations Syed Abid to become scholar of KMCEO Trust to receive scholarship for your further studies!!!

In Abid's own words.....

"We are like dwarfs standing on the shoulders of giants. We see more, and things that are more distant, than they did, not because our sight is superior nor because we are taller than them, but because they raise us up, and by their great stature add to ours."-- These are the words of John of Salisbury, a 12th century theologian that serve as a flawless abstract of my journey with the KMCEO family and the people that led me to it.

I don't think I can do justice with words to the impact of "giants" in my life but I will try. My school principal Mrs. Ashu Tiwary has one of the most inspiring images in my worldview. I will forever be grateful for everything that I had the privilege to learn from her. She is the one who introduced me to the KMCEO Trust in my senior year in high school when my family was struggling financially. My father had recently lost his job and we were figuring out if I could afford college. KMCEO was a sigh of relief in a storm of uncertainty. I had qualified for NIT Jamshedpur and BITS Pilani and had a choice between the stellar placement records of BITS and the affordable B.Tech program of NIT. A choice that was made easy by KMCEO trust and the BITS Pilani merit scholarship. I could pursue the undergrad course of my dreams at one of the most prestigious schools in the country without worrying about finances!

KMCEO enabled me to perform at my best while at university and helped me believe that anything is possible if you dream big. The Almighty always opens doors for those who try and believe. In college, I was the recipient of another merit scholarship that was awarded to the top 7 students that waived 80% off of my tuition fees.

To call KMCEO just a scholarship organization would be a gross understatement of the intellectual counsel received by the scholars. Mrs. Mitali Chopra and Mr. Abhijit Mitra are some of the sweetest people I've had the opportunity to interact with. Rupa ma'am and Niroop sir are beacons of empathy and humility despite having illustrious careers; one can only hope to emulate. They are amazing aviators and I still remember being wowed by the collection of model aircrafts in their study on my first visit. I will share an anecdote from Niroop sir. He told me about the planes that he had piloted and Jet Provost comes to mind. Niroop sir had flown this jet to become the first Indian civilian to fly solo on a military aircraft! This was the one that garnered him praise from Air Commodore Harish Nayani, one of the IAF test pilots for MiG-21 and Tejas jets. I feel abundantly blessed to be backed by such "giants" in the early stages of my career, and I sincerely hope that one day I will give back to society with the same empathy that is embodied in the cause of Kudy Mahanty.

I graduated from BITS Pilani with distinction honors in 2020 in Computer Science. and I am currently placed at a software development firm based in San Jose, CA that pioneers in cutting edge system design. I work with the data protection team out of their Bangalore office. To be placed straight out of college in one of the highest paying software engineering roles in the country, even for IIT graduates, is a dream that felt distant in 2016, but I stood on the shoulders of giants that taught me to dream big.

KMCEO Scholar - Ankit Poddar

Many congratulations Ankit to become very first scholar of KMCEO Trust to receive scholarship for your further studies!!!

In Ankit's own words.....

Swami Vivekananda said - "Take up one idea. Make that one idea of your life, think of it, dream of it, live on that idea, let the brain muscle every part of your body, be full of that idea and just leave every other idea alone. This is the way to achieve something".

My journey started with that one idea of becoming a Chartered Accountant right when I took up commerce after 10th and that was very clear right from the beginning. I gave my intermediate exams and became the Jamshedpur Topper with 96% marks in commerce. We were financially weak but my father never restricted my dreams and always tried to fulfill all my requirements. So, with that one idea of becoming a Chartered Accountant & with my father's belief in me I entered Chartered Accountancy Course. I cleared my CA Foundation with 183/200 marks. But then for further studies I needed funds. Therefore, I along with my father went to so many relatives & so called social workers. Relatives didn't believe my ambition and for social workers I was not the vote bank.

But, as it is rightly said, when none of your plans are working, God has a better plan for you. And then KMCEO Trust entered the picture like a savior It was the watershed moment of my life, that gave feathers to my dreams again.

I came in contact with KMCEO Trust through my school. At that time, I was not a very good speaker and was very shy. I lacked confidence in myself. But, the Mentors of the Trust believed in me, trusted my academic skills and gave me a chance. I was fully funded throughout my CA course without any burden or conditions. The only condition was that I have to do something big. That gave me tons of hope.

I believe, sometimes what becomes most important is the trust shown my someone, that is when you find your dreams are more important to someone other than yourself. That moment you realise that you cannot let them down. When nobody believed in me, KMCEO Trust selflessly came out and helped me, just with a belief that I can do it. I was free of any stress and I concentrated in my studies.

I cleared my CA intermediate and entered Big 4 for Articleship training. Post my Articleship training I cleared my CA Final in December'2021. Currently I am working in a big 4 firm.

Now, when I look back at my journey, I feel while financial support is no doubt very important, but along with that the belief and the trust shown by someone when the world in not believing you makes the difference.

Here at KMCEO Trust, I feel like I am a part of a family. This trust was established in the memory of Kudy Mahanty (the beloved child of Rupa Ma'am and Niroop Sir) to help the underprivileged children of the society. She (Kudy) is the guardian angel of all the scholars, blessing us in every part and every aspect of life. The purpose of the trust is as pure as Kudy's soul, that's why whenever I address anyone anywhere, I just say this is my family.

Thank You!!! Kudy for your blessings...Thank you KMCEO Trust and all the Trustees for your belief in me.

KMCEO Scholar - Ashish

Many congratulations Ashish for receiving KMCEO Trust scholarship for your further studies!!!

In Ashish's own words.....

One of the guiding principles of my life is, "Invest in your goals!". If you have a goal, an aim, or an ambition towards achieving something, make sure you invest fully in that. No matter how difficult things appear to be, your determination and your dedication will provide the stepping stones for your goals

I have always been amused by the world of Computer Science. It has been something which I wanted to pursue as a child. The idea that one's code, logic and problem-solving abilities are going to help make people's lives easier, that the lines of code I'll be writing will live for many years to come and keep enriching lives has always been an inspiration for me.

The pursuit started in class 8 when I was introduced to Java, one of the most prominent programming languages used in the industry. I solved many mathematical problems through computations. Since then, I scored 100% in Computer Science in nearly every subsequent exam. In my board exams, I scored 97% overall in 10th and 97.5% overall in 12th.

I cracked JEE Mains and was offered to study Computer Science & Engineering at NIT Jamshedpur. But I had no finance to support my studies. Yes, I could go on to take an education loan, which I did, unfortunately that wasn't enough to support my entire course. Nor I had any other property or resource neither I could afford to take another loan. Here's where KMCEO Trust came into the picture.

My school's Principal introduced me to the KMCEO Trust. She briefly explained to me it and that I could get help to carry forward my studies. I remain indebted to her. I still remember my interview for the scholarship. It was raining heavily on that day. When I reached Rupa ma'am and Niroop sir's home, I was completely drenched. They offered me a towel to dry myself and offered me a glass of hot milk. I can't put into words how comfortable they made me. It's just goodness. I was asked a couple of questions about what I wanted to pursue and the goals I was setting for myself. It was a wonderful experience.

Needless to say, had it not been for the KMCEO Trust, it would have been immensely difficult for me to carry forward my studies. Only after ensuring financial security, one can focus on the goals in their entirety. The Trust is a family. For any doubt, you can reach out to anyone and they make sure that it is clarified. You are also enquired about your progress from time to time which motivates and pushes you further. Just like a family, you can trust their advice in your time of need.

The KMCEO Trust was established in the fond memory of Kudy Mahanty. It aims at helping students financially to carry forward their studies and prepare them for their goals. I believe she is watching over us and blessing us. She would also be happy with the work that the trust is doing.

KMCEO Scholar - Nidhi Kumari

Many congratulations Nidhi for receiving KMCEO Trust scholarship for your further studies!!!

In Nidhi's own words.....

There is a quote that always keeps me going, "Where there's a will, there's a way." And I strongly believe that if one wants something and is willing to work hard for it, everything will fall into place.

I come from a middle-class family where education is the topmost priority for us. I still remember, after completing class 10, I immediately started teaching students so that I could pay my tuition fees. I used to find a way out to make everything work. I passed Class 12 with flying colours. I always wanted to pursue Chartered Accountancy but the expenses were beyond our reach. I discussed my dream with my parents. They assured me they will make every possible effort to help me realize my dream. But all this was looking quite impossible. It was at that time, with their support and prayers, I got to know about KMCEO from my principal. It was as if my prayers were answered. She asked me to fill the form and that's how my journey with KMCEO family began.

I still remember the very first day when I went to meet Rupa Ma'am with my father. The way she believed in me was something that ignited me. It built my confidence that I can do it. With the help of the KMCEO scholarship, I enrolled myself into this course along with my regular college. I passed my CA Foundation and got into the CA Intermediate course. Currently I am doing Summer Internship in Flipkart and preparing for my examination.

The journey thus far with KMCEO family has been very beautiful. I thank Rupa ma'am and Niroop sir for the financial support extended to me. My warmest gratitude to Rupa ma'am for all the life lessons she gave me. I can't forget, when I was really shattered due to some family issue, she hugged me and said, "Let people say what they want to.... You cannot control that. Rather you should not let their opinions effect you... You know yourself better and I know you will shine brighter." And yes, since then whenever I feel I am stuck, I remember her words. Also, I thank Mitali ma'am for mentoring me and making things work for me.

I am very thankful to my guardian angel Kudy Mahanty for always showering her blessing and being my guiding star. I owe KMCEO for everything that I am today and I feel so proud to be a part of this family.

"You have given this child the wings to fly higher and achieve her dreams."

KMCEO Scholar - Purvi Pathak

Many congratulations Purvi for receiving KMCEO Trust scholarship for your further studies!!!

In Purvi's own words.....

"LEARN, EARN AND RETURN." This will always be a golden rule for me.

I belong to a middle-class family and my parents have always tried to give me the best within their means. After I completed my schooling, I wanted to do Engineering in Computer Science but my family's financial condition did not allow me. I had to drop a year as I could not get any loan from the bank and no one else supported me.

After a year, I somehow managed getting an education loan from a private bank. That was only 75% of the required fee. I was in the 3rd year when I came to know about KMCEO Trust through my father. I was at home on a Semester break, worried. Placement drive was going on in the college and I was not able to get through it. I was tense and the fee to be paid to the college was making me very anxious.

As luck would have it, I came to learn about KMCEO Trust. It was like a saviour for me at the most crucial phase of my education which was the placements. I did not do well in the first meeting with Rupa Ma'am and Niroop Sir. I was depressed, feeling awful due to low confidence and was not even able to speak well. I am forever grateful to Rupa Ma'am and Niroop Sir not to have made a First and the Last impression of me and decided to help me as they are very generous.

They supported me with funds so that I could study well without any stress. I met Rupa Ma'am and Niroop Sir again after sometime once I got my placement. I was excited, confident, happy and full of positivity. Their energy level is astounding. I have never met such comforting and kind people before. When I told them I am working in Tata Consultancy Services as a System Engineer, I could see the happiness in their eyes!

My life has changed a lot with the help of KMCEO Trust. It is not only about funds; it is truly more than that. I am forever grateful for all the mentors, Rupa Ma'am, Niroop Sir, Mitali Ma'am and Subhankar Bhowmick Sir. Kudy Didi is certainly watching over us and blessing us all.

Thank You and I will definitely make you all proud...

KMCEO Scholar - Shristy Srivastava

Many congratulations Shristy for receiving KMCEO Trust scholarship for your further studies!!!

In Shristy's own words.....

There have been multiple experiences in my life where I have felt God through people, and meeting Rupa Mam and Niroop Sir is definitely one such experience. There was a moment in my life, at the end of 2019, when I was in the 6th semester of my Integrated M Tech course when I felt there is no hope left to continue my studies due to the financial stretches my family was facing. Ever since my school days, I have tried earning money by teaching students or by getting involved in some personal skill development activities to feel independent and pose less financial stress on my parents. But, at this phase of my life, part-time employment options had stopped and unfortunately, at the same time my parents were going through a crisis due to other reasons.

I was at home on vacation. I knew I have to pay the fee for the upcoming semester as soon as I returned and there was no clue how and where to proceed further. Then, something came to my mind and I googled the Trusts present in Jamshedpur who support students monetarily with their education. To my surprise, I found the KMCEO Trust, founded in memory of Kudy Mahanty, daughter of Rupa Maam and Niroop Mahanty Sir which works towards empowering young minds based on their academic merits and help them with their scholastic goals. Without thinking any further, I filled the form and my father submitted it at the given address. Fortunately, I received a call from the Trust informing that my form was shortlisted and I was called for a short interview.

Well, that interaction was the first time I would have ever opened up so many things about my life experiences to anybody and to be honest, it is the first time I am penning them down. After going through my past academic records and the interaction, I was shortlisted for the scholarship. The Trust would fund 80% of the total college fee. That was a miracle moment for me. It gave a boost to my confidence, and most significantly inspired me to help others in need whenever I have a little more than my needs. The little help would change their lives. Although the scholarship continued for a very short time since my course got over soon, my belongingness to the KMCEO family is always making me feel that I too should serve the community in all possible ways. Presently, I am mentoring students on the BYJU'S platform and am looking forward to achieving my future goals.

It's said that, "Everything happens for a reason, nothing occurs by chance. It is a part of the Almighty's divine plan for you" and I strongly believe in this. For me, Kudy Didi's blessings has always made me feel that I have a bigger mission in life, not only studying or earning. It is the mission of serving humanity, giving back to the society one lives in, being compassionate and kind towards all. It was overall an insightful journey for me and personally, it helped me to come one step closer to this motto and I am sure I will achieve it soon.
